The Fig Eater by Jody Shields

I was drawn to this book because to mentioned Freud's Dora case. As a former psych major, I was intrigued.  Dora is dead on page one and Freud is nowhere to be seen.  There is a lot of eastern European mysticism and 1910 Viennese atmosphere but at its heart this is a pretty boring murder mystery with a lot of characters I never warmed to.  Oh well.
