The Arsonist's Guide to Writer's Homes in New England by Brock Clarke

Sam Pulsifer is an accidental arsonist and murderer (and someone who aggravated me almost as much as the main character in Confederacy of Dunces) . Convinced that he is fated to be a bungler, he proceeds to live his life just that way even once he gets out of prison. There are enough quirky characters to make the reader smile even in this books darkest moments. Mostly it is a story that will make you smirk particularly if you are a reader of the writers whose houses burn or just smolder.
