The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
This is a perfect story for every book lover particularly those who love independent book stores. A.J.'s bookstore is in a small island community off the coast of New England. His specialty is books with real "literary quality" and he doesn't much care what people really want to read. Always a bit prickly, a recent sadness in his life has made him a real curmudgeon. And then he finds a surprise left in his bookstore and everything changes. This is the kind of bookstore experience you wish were happening in your town with characters you would make sure you encountered there on a regular basis. There is a little romance and a mystery that you may or may not find believable and best of all multiple references to books you either recognize or will be quick to add to your to-be-read list.
