The Archivist by Martha Cooley

The is a story about marriage, madness, religion and T.S.Eliot.  Matthias is an archivist at a major research university.  One of the university's prize possessions is a file of letters between T.S. Eliot and Emily Hale - friend? lover?  The parallels between Eliot's relationship with his wife and Matt's with his form the core of one strain of this story. Another is the post WWll intellectual struggle with the world's failure to respond to the needs of the Jewish population before and during the war.  Alternating with the sections narrated by Matt are his wife Judith's story told from the confines of a mental hospital.  Heavy stuff highlighted by insightful lines of Eliot's poetry.
