The Story of a Marriage by Andrew Sean Greer

Two good friends are separated by WWII. Unexpectedly reunited in San Francisco following the war, they marry.  The story of that marriage unfolds through one surprise after another. As the reader you are forced to confront your own reasons for assumptions you make along the way as well as the thought provoking language of the story itself.  It is simply the story of a marriage that is anything but simple.
