Off Season by Anne Rivers Siddons

While basically a "beach read", this one comes with a spiffy ending. Lilly is on her way to her Maine beach house to spread the ashes of her husband Cam. Lilly's life was marked by early tragedy but her long marriage to Cam was one that dreams are made of. She recalls the summers she spent at the beach house as a child. They are both the best and the worst of memories. She remembers how the love that she shared with Cam brought her out of some very dark places. Ahhh but there were secrets - some grudgingly shared - others yet to be discovered.
