A Town Called Alice by Nevil Shute

So many people have talked about this book and I have no idea why it took so long for me to read it. Jean Paget's story starts in the Malay jungles in WW II then to a quiet village in England and ends in the Australian outback. No matter what the setting, she an enterprising heroine worthy of admiration. Both a love story and a tale place and time. I am so glad I finally got around to reading it.
