The Uncommon Appeal of Clouds by Alexander McCall Smith
This is the ninth installment of the Isabel Dalhousie series and although there is probably value in reading them in order, I didn't. There is not so much of a story to follow - missing pieces are easily assumed. Isabel edits a philosophical journal from her home on the outskirts of Edinburgh. In this story she gets involved in trying to solve the mystery of a stolen painting. People like to tell her things which she in turn uses to solve their problems. All the while, she is prone to flights of philosophical fancy. You either enjoy these mental meanderings or you don't. I ponder some and ignore others. La la la. Time for tea.
