Booked to Die by John Dunning
A friend passed this on to me because she knows I will read anything with book or library in the title no matter how marginal. Folks who like mysteries tell me that Dunning is an above average crime writer and I will have to agree. But what I was really hooked on was the insight to book dealers - the titles that are worth so much money, lucky finds, the book lovers who risk everything for the possibility of a leather bound, unfoxed, signed, first edition. Cliff Janeway is a Denver cop turned book dealer who can't help but follow the trail of bodies left behind by book deals gone astray. Who knew there was so much danger hidden among the dusty book store shelves?
