Thirteen days to Midnight by Patrick Carman

What at first appears to be a hard luck tale of a kid tossed around in the foster system turns out to be a dark tale that fits right into the current vampire/zombie rage. Jacob, his best friend Milo and the beautiful but dangerous Oh struggle with an unusual power of indestructibility. What might seem like a superpower gift becomes a curse. Even the smattering of Catholic school theology won't keep kids from ripping through the book to see what happens in the end.
